Well that didn't take long. I haven't even been out of work for a month, and last week I got a call from my old boss asking if I would be interested in a new position. I of course said sure, and he put things in motion, and I got the offer letter on Tuesday, signed and faxed it, and they want me to start tomorrow. The job is "Warehouse Technician", and I don't know all the details yet, but I'm sure I'll know much more tomorrow! I'm to show up at 8:30am for my first day, but I was told my actual schedule once everything's good will be 12 hour shifts 5:30am-5:30pm Thurs, Fri, & Sat. And something about coming in for 4 hours on another day to make 40 hours. I've worked a job with the exact opposite hours (5pm-5am) for the past 3 years, so I'm going to have to actually SLEEP at night again, ergh.
I must be the luckiest guy. Get laid off, spent almost month playing games and enjoying a little vacation, and then a job lands in my lap. Sorry all of you diligently looking for work. :( I have to say I was hoping my "vacation" would have lasted a little longer before this event came... heh. But of course I would be a fool not to take the offer.
Oh, and even though my employment with Raytheon officially ended about 3 weeks ago, since I'm being re-hired in such a short time they're allowing me to keep my status of having been with the company for 5 years already. That means I get an extra week of vacation time still ^_^
